Bachata Workshop with Zain

March 24, 2008

On Saturday, Whikeroom Bilique had a guest all the way from San Francisco. He’s none other than Zain Khandwala of RicaSalsa. A professional Salsa and Bachata instructor and Performer, Zain came by Malaysia in his travels to check out the scene here and decided to have a short Bachata workshop to cater to some of the curious minds here.

The whole workshop was short yet, he was able to deliver over a few steps as well as footwork to us. Which is nice, the only way I know how to dance bachata is the very basic so with what he taught, I can say that the number of moves I know have also increased. IF only I won’t forget it by the end of the week.

If you’re interested to meet up with him, there’s one great way to do it. Come to the Salsa Congress in Penang this April 18th – 21st and watch him impart some of his knowledge to the participants of the workshops and parties. For more details regarding the Congress, you can drop me an email at michael@worldlatinsalsacongress.com. For more photos from the workshop, you can check out the facebook’s photo gallery here.

ShaolinTiger’s Birthday Party

March 22, 2008

Happy Birthday ST, finally hitting the big 30!

ShaolinTiger doing a blowjob...

KimberlyCun organized the Surprise Birthday party for ST and secretly send the invites out to the whole world that knows him. Originally planned for IZZI in Bukit Bintang but due to the F1 events that is happening all over town, the venue was changed at the last minute to IZZI in Damansara Uptown.

I’m not complaining cause it’s nearer for me and in the rain, no need to suffer through the horrendous traffic jam that’s commonplace in KL whenever it rains.

Bloggers
(All the bloggers that was there…)

It was a nice party, get to meet other fellow bloggers that I’ve never met before (even though I do drop by their blogs to have a read). Thanks KimC for the invite to this party and Happy Birthday to you again ST. Of course, my post won’t be complete without photos, so find them here. (Didn’t take much photos so let’s wait for ST’s camera to showcase what happened at the party)

Colbie Caillat LIVE in Malaysia

March 15, 2008

Colbie Caillat had a showcase at The Curve on Friday night and I was there to capture it all down on print so to say. The whole event was supposed to start at 8pm but due to an hour long shower. Her appearance was pushed back to about 9pm

Adam C and Natalie Kniese was there to keep the party going despite the rain by giving away free CDs and posters. About 9.20pm, the whole group showed up and got the show going. Screams got louder and the live performance got better and better.

Here’s 10 of my selected shots for your enjoyment.

What do you think of these series of photos? These were selected from a set of 40 photos that I have hosted on Facebook and here. Feel free to comment, your comments will be moderated.

Lim Meng & Paul’s Wedding Dinner

March 11, 2008

Attended a Wedding Dinner Reception at Ritz-Carlton on the 8th of March. The very same day when citizens of Malaysia went out to vote for their new government.

The whole event was beautiful and this is the first time I attend a wedding where we were served individually with the whole course. Everything single dishes that was served was served directly to each guest, no more no less.

The whole thing was quite good as we won’t have to worry that other guest would take more than you and so forth, the only bad thing about it is, the time lapse between each dishes was quite long, so by the end of the dinner. We are still hungry!

The Ballroom was small and cozy with about 20+ tables. It gives us that nice atmosphere of closeness and we see it happening as guests mingled among one another between dishes with a live 3 piece band playing sentimental songs in the background. Cost of the whole reception was quite steep compared to most wedding receptions held at other hotels. Well, I guess the name of the hotel also plays a part in it. Anyway, a big congratulations to Lim Meng and Paul.
